Žbevnica – the most western peak of Croatia, above 1000m.
Žbevnica 24h is one of the challenges from the 100 miles of Istria challenges collection.
It pushes you to the limits, testing how many times can you go up to the peak and back in 24 hours.
Are you brave enough for this?
Let’s find out! 🙂
The starting point is in Buzet, at the roundabout near the bus station. You have to go uphill to the peak of Žbevnica (1014m) along the route of well know trail race “100 miles of Istria”. The finish is again in Buzet at the roundabout.
So, you need to go up and down. Easy, right?
There is only one part of the route, near mountain lodge Žbevnica, where you have to be careful.
Because of safety reasons, on the way up, the route is going along the steep way passing the rocks and on the way down this part has a bypass via a gravel road and forest path, following “100 miles of Istria” signs.
There are no aid stations during the challenge, you need to be self-sufficient.
You can park your car at the bus station or in Sjeverna ulica. Near roundabout you will see a Compressport tent – the starting point.
You have 24h, so we are sure you will have enough time to enjoy this beautiful part of the course.
See you on Saturday, May 30th at 10 am at the latest.
